Our Philosophy
Our development philosophy has two core pillars. First, develop the land in a way that preserves the look and lifestyle of country living and, second, do so with an approach that is customer centric.
With that in mind, we utilize a very selective process to locate unique parcels of land that can be developed into something special. Our focus is to buy medium to large tracts of undeveloped rural land then develop them into acreage lots perfect for prime residential, commercial and/or mixed-use communities. In the end, our goal is to bring to market spectacular buildable lots that our customers, and the community alike, will find highly desirable. All of that accomplished with an incredible attention to detail and total commitment to preserving the undeniable feeling of peace and tranquility that comes with country living.

Our Team
Spencer Ackenback | Managing Partner of Development Operations
Managing Partner of Burgh Development, LLC. Spencer has been in the homebuilding and development business since 2006. He began his career working for the largest new home builder in America and from 2012 – 2020 managed all operations for the Oklahoma City Division, with a 1-year stent as V.P. of Operations for another builder. While in Oklahoma, a majority of the communities under his management were self-developed. Spencer was the driving force and engaged in daily development activities as well as setting and managing all budgets and operations for the division. All aspects of the development processes required full engagement and the division grew successfully in all areas while under his management. The Oklahoma effort provided him with immeasurable amounts of experience in land development. After returning to Texas, his passion for land development led him to help establish Burgh Development, LLC.

Chris Schilling | Managing Partner of Real Estate Investments
Managing Partner of Burgh Development, LLC and Principal Founder of Minerva Real Estate. Chris’s career spans 25 years and includes investment finance, commercial, and residential real estate. Chris has dedicated his entire professional career to consulting on and managing financial risk. Starting with Merrill Lynch in 1995 where he spent eight years conducting buy-side research and portfolio risk management. After relocating to Texas in 2003, Chris expanded his focus to include real estate and spent the first 4 1/2 years with a local real estate investment firm. In 2007, he founded Minerva Real Estate which focuses on acquisition and investment in both commercial and residential real estate in the greater DFW area.
